Participants of the London Chess Cassic Were Awarded Additional Prizes

Chessvibes informs the participants of the London Chess Cassic were awarded not only main prizes (1st place - € 50,000, 2nd - € 25,000), but additional prizes for each won game. Overall €21,000 were split among 19 wins. Each win cost € 1,105. Carlsen gained 5 wins, Kramnik four, while Nakamura and Adams celebrated three wins each.
During today's live radio transmission at Chess-News, which lasted over an hour, the grandmaster and the President of the Association of Chess Professionals Emil Sutovsky talked about several important decisions made during the FIDE Presidential Board meeting in Elista. Sutovsky was present at the meeting and became an active participant during negotiations about the prize fund of the Grand Prix Series. Earlier, the minimal prize fund for each stage of the Grand Prix was set at €120K.
Following a short break after a peaceful conclusion of the fourth round game between Levon Aronian and Vladimir Kramnik, an additional rapidplay game has started in Zurich, billed as an exhibition game: it will not count towards the overall score of the match. Kramnik has the white pieces in the rapid.
