Magnus Carlsen shot another video review of the Candidates' in which he told of his impressions on the second half the tournament. This time "the show" was ran only by him, i.e. he wasn't accompanied by his manager Espen Agdestein.

"My general impression is that most of them are just tired a bit, that's first. I don't think you need to go to a straight fight to win every game... I read something Kramnik said "Well, I am not Carlsen, so I cannot win every equal endgame, they don't blunder like that against me.." Well it might be true, but it sounds a little bit like an excuse," he says. Carlsen noted Anand is showing a stable play, he suggests  other players might have had followed Vishy's pragmatic approach to the competition.

The world champion is disappointed with the level of tenacity in the games. He also mentions Karjakin who managed to "turn it around" in the second half of the competition and now has chances to catch Anand. "Karjakin showed a very good technique," Carlsen says after mentioning his winning game against Svidler. Nonetheless, Magnus notes that so far only Anand managed to find a "middle ground" and balance his play which, in Carlsen's view, will help him to win the tournament.
