Jovana Vojinovic Wins Serbian Championship on Tiebreak

The 2012 Serbian Women's Chess Championship took place from 22nd MArch to 1st April. Twelve players competed in the round robin tournament.

The 70th Georgian Women's Chess Championship is under way in Tbilisi.

The Russian Men and Women Rapid Chess Championships have finished in St. Petersburg.

The Russian Veterans Championship took place, not for the first time, at the Lesnoy Gorodok recreation centre in the suburbs of Moscow. The event was a 9-round Swiss.

The 3rd China Women Chess Masters Tournament has started today. This is a round-robin competition which gathered eight Chinese players (all the strongest except Hou Yifan and Zhao Xue), one Russian Valentina Gunina and one Georgian Lela Javakhishvili.

Ju Wenjun, Tan Zhongyi, Huang Qian, Guo Qi, Ding Yixin, Wang Jue, Shen Yang, Zhang Xiaowen are representing China.

The opening ceremony and drawing were held yesterday. 

Mikhail Krjukov, the chief arbiter of the rapid competition at Dvorkovich Memorial, announced the final standings. 128 participants competed for the main prize during two days. As long as four GMs finished gathering 8.5 points out of 11 the tiebreak was counted to determine the winner.
