Shamkir: world champion gets down for the second time

The world champion lost the second game in the raw at Gashimov Memorial. Last time the similar happened to Carlsen in 2010.

Take a look at Evgeny Surov's photo report

On a question what hapened, Carlsen said he has no energy left. He also noted that the opponents play very well and that they are 'fihgting better' than him. According to Norwegian, he needs a rest day to refresh.

Radjabov, "I decided to play the King's Indian Defence today, the opeing I've been playing my entire career. I wanted to try it out against Carlsen and to get a complicated play with mutual chances. It was a bit risky of course, but then both sides have chances to win.
Eventually we got that complicated position, at some point my opponent underestimated my position and played too aggressively."

Carlsen said the first mistake was made when he let his rival to play 12...Ng4. After it Black is alright. "Then strategically risky was 19.exf5." As the world champion noted better was to choose a more decent continuation.
"In general I evaluated the position wrongly. I really thought sacrifice of the exchange was prospective. After 28...b5 I already couldn't find ways to equalize". Carlsen said he might have missed something in a time trouble, "but at that point the position was objectively won for Black."

Radjabov, "The games against Carlsen are always interesting, although far not every game finished nicely for me. Today's encounter against him will definitely become most remembered for me in the past six years."
