Garry Kasparov held a simultaneous exhibition on 18 boards in Split, Croatia. The former World Champion won all the games. Among Kasparov’s opponents were the famous singer Severina Vuckovic and the new coach of the national football team Igor Stimac.

We have already reported on the exhibition match of 2 rapid games between Garry Kasparov and Yoshiharu Habu, in which the chess champion had defeated the shogi champion twice. Garry Kasparov joined the live broadcast of the NorwayChess supertournament which is taking place in Stavanger. The former world champion and candidate for FIDE president shared his impressions on the now-played games and answered different questions including the political ones. 

In ST Louis at 22.00 Moscow time, the friendly match started between Garry Kasparov and Nigel Short. Saturday and Sunday they will play one rapid game (time control 25+10) and four blitz games (5+3). You can follow live.

On the FIDE website, Kirsan Illyumzhinov has replied to various recent statements by Garry Kasparov. We would remind you that in one of his comments, Kasparov reacted to Illyumzhinov's visit to Lviv and the subsequent decision to hold the women's world championship match in that city. In Kasparov's opinion, Illyumzhinov thereby was taking part in a special operation for Vladimir Putin.

Viktor Korchnoi hasn't played any rated games since 23rd September, 2012. He suffered a stroke later in 2012, which made most experts think that the chess legend wouldn't be able to return to competitive chess. In March 2013, however, Korchnoi played an exhibition match of 2 games in Leipzig vs Wolfgang Uhlmann, with the time control of 60 min/game for each. Korchnoi won 2-0.
