According to our source, the unusual obligatory clothing isn't the only inconvenience for the participants of the FIDE Women Grand Prix in Tehran. Some also complain about the heat in the playing hall, but all this is overshadowed by the following information.

On one of the days, two players - Valentina Gunina and Pia Cramling - went for a walk to a park. On their way back to the hotel, Gunina was attacked by a local bully who ran up to her from behind, touched her rudely, and fled.

The player was quite frightened and wouldn't leave the hotel without being accompanied by men from then on. Neither would the other players who have learnt about the incident.

Both Gunina and Cramling had a poor start in the tournament; the Swedish player is in the last place with 0.5/4, the Russian is a point ahead. The current leader is Gunina's compatriot Natalia Pogonina who has 3.5 points.
