Tbilisi: Nana Dzagnidze Wins ACP Women Cup Rapid in Armageddon

The tie-break between Nana Dzagnidze of Georgia and Pia Cramling of Sweden has finished several minutes ago in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Nana Alexandria explains the rules to the players. 

Both games of the tie-break finished in draws. 

In Armageddon Cramling played White with 5 minutes and an obligation to win against 4 minutes of her rival. 

Cramling had an advantage in the edngame, however she didn't control the time and lost on time, which means Nana Dzagnidze of Georgia became the winner of ACP Women Cup Rapid.

  • Anna Muzychuk managed to maintain lead in ACP Women Cup that takes place in Tbilisi, Georgia. She lost only half a point in the 5th round against Victoria Cmilyte. As Anna told us she's going to either have a rest or walk this evening instead of visiting a highly recommended performance at Rezo Gabriadze Puppet theatre.

  • Kasparov spent three days in Tbilisi and met not only notable chess figures but political leaders of the county. You can check meeting of the former World Champion at the airport here.

  • Another Aeroflot festival is over and the tournament baton has been handed to several cities. That was perfectly seen at Moscow airport where chess players were heading in different directions. Some were going back home after 9 days spent in Hotel Cosmos, others were flying to Kishinev, the third part of the players was heading to Tenerife Island, while the fourth, the one I actually joined, was looking forward playing in Tbilisi, Georgia.    

  • The opening ceremony of the ACP Women Cup, a Round Robin tournament with the prize fund of 40 thousand US dollars and twelve participants, was held at 20:00 MSK Time in Tbilisi, Georgia.
