Svidler won and took the lead in the match against Navara

The first part of a friendly match between David Navara and Peter Svidler has finished in Prague. The Russian GM won the game and took the lead. From an interview given specially for our website Svidler noted that his decision of the opening was made right at the board. He also mentioned the delayed move d4 stating it won't become the refutation for Berlin, however, "It has worked out in this game, which is already quite good."

As the Russian GM confessed he is a fan of the Russian group Aquarium, not Kino headed by Viktor Tsoi who would turn 50 today. In other words Peter is more fond of Grebenshikov. This and other interesting facts about today's game can be found in Evgeny Surov's large photo spread A Place For The Next Step.

The 3rd game of the match will be held the day after tomorrow at 18:00 MSK time. Tomorrow Navara and Svidler will give simuls.
