Grand Prix: "Sharp" Topalov Couldn't Overtake "Safe" Nakamura

The game between Nakamura and Topalov in round four of London Grand Prix ended in a draw.

During the press conference Topalov was asked a question whether he felt that Nakamura had chosen an opening in order to slip away from his home preparations. Veselin said that he can only have clues about it as the game was quite a postional one and black got an initiative just because Nakamura made some inaccurate moves.

However he added at once that despite the fact that his position seemed to be quite active, white had enough reserves to end the game in a draw so the result looks quite fair.

"Perhaps I should not have exchanged queens, but it was still quite even there" - exclaimed Topalov.

"Rock solid draw today. Still in a state of deep disbelief over my failure to play 61.a6 yesterday", mentioned Nakamura in his Twitter yesterday.
